Butch interviews his pastor friend, Steve Bruce, after a recent workshop in Virginia, USA. They discuss some of the changes to STS training and "the characters" added to Wise Counsellor story to make it more memorable as training moves away from a list of questions to stories within a story. Also covered in the conversation is how Wise Counsellor is now taught. Lastly, Butch and Steve talk about the impact of STS workshops and the advantage of attending more than one training event for deeper learning, refreshing or honing of skills previously learned, and how this method continues to impact the heart of Steve.

Today's show:

  • STS workshop content changes to Wise Counsellor illustration/story
  • The power of story (over recalling a list) to remember training content
  • The advantages of repeat workshops for refreshing or honing skills

Steve Bruce, a pastor in Kentucky of a growing church, describes how the changes in the Simply The Story wise counselor illustration allow for faster learning of the STS oral method of Scripture engagement. As a pastor, Steve has been challenged to remember that some of his congregation and people he interacts with are oral communicators. This impacts how he shares information. Does he just tell people what they need to know? If he simply tells people, how does Steve know they have learned? Hear Steve's heart as he recalls the impact of a recent training in Virginia.
